Starling Murmuration Survey

Finding out whether murmurations have changed over the past decade.

Between 2014 and 2016, Professor Anne Goodenough and Professor Adam Hart of University of Gloucestershire harnessed people power to study starling murmurations: the spectacular aerial displays that can occur as starlings gather before going to roost.

We are now rerunning that survey, supported by Starling Bank, to find out whether murmurations have changed over the past decade.

Take part

If you have seen a murmuration, please tell us about it using our short survey. You do not need to be an expert to take part!

If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to complete the survey.

Please complete a separate survey for each murmuration you observe.
