She specialises in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Tangible User Interfaces (TUI’s), Immersive Technologies (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality AR/VR), and User-centred Design (UCD). Currently, she is focusing on developing user evaluation methods of interaction modalities with virtual representations of historical artefacts.
Before joining as a lecturer at University of Gloucestershire, she was a doctoral researcher in the School of Design at Northumbria University Newcastle, where she developed Tangible and Augmented Reality artefacts working in partnership with the UK National Park. She continues to work closely with industry partners, promoting the use of digital technologies in museums and heritage sites, leading to the dissemination of research-led systems in public settings.
She received her Ph.D. from Northumbria University, Newcastle in Industrial Design. She is also a design practitioner with a background in Graphic and Interaction Design.
Dr Kobeisse has a strong background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) supported by substantial publications record in leading HCI conferences venues, including ACM UIST and ACM TEI among others and she acts as a reviewer for many conferences and journals.
Her research interests include:
