My background is adult nursing. I have experience in respiratory, haematology and specialist nursing, as well as community nursing.
I was a Macmillan lung and dermatology clinical nurse specialist for many years. The most recent role was that of a lead clinical nurse specialist in dermatology. My role required the building up of a dermatology department as well as working as a clinical nurse specialist working in ‘two week wait’ (2ww) clinics performing surgery and providing diagnosis to skin cancer patients.
I also have qualifications in leadership, skin surgery as well as being an independent nurse prescriber. I completed an MSc in Health Care Sciences in 2012.
I have a passion for developing nurses of the future and I always embraced student nurses by ensuring they had an excellent learning environment with an abundance of opportunities.
