I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007. After enjoying my time in all clinical settings as a rotational physiotherapist in the NHS I soon realised my passion was in Pelvic Health.
I’ve worked for many years within the NHS and private sector as a Women’s/Pelvic Health physiotherapist including leading and developing Women’s Health Physiotherapy services. Within this time I also completed my Masters degree in Women’s Health.
Once my MSc was complete I was looking for my next challenge and was the first physiotherapist in my trust to complete their non-medical prescribing qualification. Having worked alongside many Gynaecology Consultants I began to realise where my advancing skill set could work within the team. This led me on my journey to join the Urogyanecology team as an Advanced Practitioner.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I combined this with my clinical skills to develop the Women’s Health module here at University of Gloucestershire. My passion for teaching evolved which led me to where I am now at the University in a permanent role.
My learning and teaching focus is Advanced Clinical Practice and Advanced Professional Practice. Including evidence based practice and patient safety.
