I am particularly interested in participatory research approaches and in projects which enable students to make a difference to communities through their research. I am currently supervising postgraduate research projects focusing on post-colonial identities for Nigerian migrant women, and the role of mental healthcare provision in relation to violent offending.

My previous research has focused on the experiences of disabled students in higher education, the health and healthcare of people with learning disabilities, ‘real world’ learning for students in HE, the nature of community ‘assets’, and an evaluation of a Health Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (HIDVA) project.
