Chantelle Horton

Senior Lecturer in Magazine Journalism and Production

I’ve been a journalist for over 20 years working predominantly in magazine publishing. There is no greater buzz than working as a team to create a product you all love. I’m passionate about training students and finding the editorial talent of the future, so they can experience this too.

Biography

My first role was as marketing assistant across three young women’s magazines in London before I eventually made my dream move to Just 17 landing the role of editorial assistant. I worked my way up through features desks on various titles until eventually becoming Editor of women’s weekly magazine, more! (published by Bauer Media) for four years. I lead a team of 30 and oversaw the entire brand including print product, website, social media, TV and events and won both Bauer’s Editor of the Year and Magazine of the Year.

For the last five years I have been a freelance editor, journalist and consultant working for titles including Grazia, Stylist, Forever Sports, News International and Sainsbury’s Magazine.
