Biography

Aleysha has been a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Psychology since 2023. She has completed her BSc in Psychology (Health & Clinical) and her MSc in Health Psychology. Currently, she is completing her PhD, focusing on how the COM-B model can be used to reduce antisocial behaviour in university students. Her interests are in the application of behaviour change models and theories to improve health behaviours.

Teaching & Research

Teaching

Aleysha supports on research methods modules across all levels. She also covers topics relating to health psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Research

Aleysha’s main research interest involves the integration of health and forensic psychology, using behaviour change theories to understand the underpinning factors that cause university students take part in antisocial behaviour(s) and developing suitable interventions to reduce this.​ Much of her previous research has involved looking into public health, such as seeking to understand the psychosocial factors associated with engaging in behaviour that prevents infection transmission of COVID-19, as well as health and well-being outcomes. She has also worked on a project funded by Public Health Wales, looking at behavioural insights about facilitators and barriers to service users returning inhalers to community pharmacies for safe disposal.
