Michelle Kilfoyle

Science/Research Communications Specialist

I am a science communicator. I translate academic research into easy-to-grasp and compelling content for policymakers, practitioners and the wider public to support research impact and engagement.

Biography

I joined the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI) in 2025 to deliver communications for large EU-funded environmental and agricultural projects. These include:

  • SPRINT – assessing the environmental and health risks of pesticides, exploring more sustainable methods of plant protection
  • TERRASAFE – working with communities across Southern Europe and North Africa to test new methods of combatting desertification

I produce web content, social media, reports and more to inspire interest in the research findings beyond academic circles, and communicate their value for policy and practice.

Qualifications
