Tim Knibbs

Lecturer In Education Foundation Primary

I’m Tim Knibbs, a Primary Education Lecturer and the 3rd Year Lead. With over 17 years of experience in both teaching and mentoring, I’m passionate about shaping the next generation of educators.

Biography

My main area of expertise is Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE), and I love sharing the knowledge and experiences I’ve gathered over the years.

Before becoming a lecturer, I worked in safeguarding for the NSPCC, I was also a primary school teacher, PE specialist and PSHE coordinator. In these roles I gained a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of working with young children. I believe in combining academic knowledge with practical insights to help students become well-rounded educators who can create supportive, inclusive learning environments.

As the 3rd Year Lead, I support students as they transition from theory to practice, offering guidance through their final year while providing mentorship and career advice. I’m passionate about passing on the experiences I’ve had, helping students to understand the importance of emotional and social growth alongside academic achievement.

Outside of teaching, I’m an avid mountain biker, enjoy playing football, and love watching rugby. These hobbies help me stay active and balance the demands of my professional life. I truly believe in the transformative power of education and am dedicated to empowering students to make a lasting, positive impact on their future classrooms.
