Jenny Eastwood

Associate Head of School - Outreach & Engagement

I am a PR professional, senior lecturer and former journalist who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of media and public relations professionals. It is a privilege to teach students from all over the world and help them take the next steps in their academic journey and future careers.

Biography

Jenny is an experienced communications professional and strategist with more than 20 years’ experience in public relations and journalism.

She is a PR consultant as well as former editor of the regional newspaper The Citizen and digital editor of Gloucestershire Live.

Jenny set up her own PR business in 2018 working with a range of clients across the private, public and charity sector before joining University of Gloucestershire as the Academic Course Leader for the MA in Communications, PR and Media.

A current PR practitioner, she prides herself on creating an industry-relevant course and bringing in guest speakers at the top of their game in the world of PR and media.

  • National Certificate Examination (NCE) in Journalism, 2005
  • MA in Political Communication, 2001

Teaching & Research

Teaching

I teach strategic communications, media relations, PR campaigns, crisis communications, influencer marketing and multimedia content creation.

External responsibilities

I also run my own PR and media consultancy.
