Zebras instead of students

Park Campus was originally mapped out as a zoological garden. The zoo was to feature zebras, beavers, polar bears and eagles amongst the menagerie. The lake in the shape of Africa still survives today, along with the elephant walkway, over 900 trees and a meadow.

The grounds are protected through a unique partnership with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, who made it a community green space in 2009.
