This module will introduce you to both the academic and clinical practice elements of the MSc course, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to study at level 7 and to start your professional transformation on the journey towards advanced practice.
You’ll critically explore the legal, ethical, economic and political obligations, evidence based practice and critical reflection that underpin professional practice within healthcare. You will learn how to build personal and professional resilience enabling you to more effectively challenge and enhance clinical practice. Your professional portfolio will enable you consolidate and translate your learning into tangible development of your clinical practice.
To study this course you must be a registered UK healthcare professional from any discipline with a track record of delivering high-quality healthcare and having a positive impact on clinical practice.
Ideally, you will be working in a Band 7 level clinical post. However, we’ll also consider clinicians working in Band 6 posts with appropriate experience and clinical impact. You should demonstrate that you have a robust, significant and appropriately varied clinical practice experience.
Applicants should be graduates or able to evidence a high level of CPD.
You can undertake modules individually then move to the full MSc at a later date, taking the results of previous modules with you via the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process.
