Funds required to evidence with CAS request

If you are applying for a Student visa from overseas, or if you are applying in the UK but have not been here with permission for 12 months or more, you must show that you have sufficient funds to cover:

This calculator will identify the minimum amount you will need to evidence. You will need to provide financial documentation to evidence this amount has been held over a consecutive 28-day period – the end date of the period must be within 31 days of your subsequent visa application. For further information on the financial requirements to be met when submitting your CAS request, please visit the student route financial requirements page.

If your money is held in a foreign currency, this should be converted into pound sterling (£) using the OANDA currency converter. When submitting your visa application, the currency conversion will be calculated using the exchange rate as it was on the date you submitted your application. You must ensure you have enough funds to match the pound sterling (£) requirement on the day of your application, so be aware of any changes in exchange rates.

Fee payment required at enrolment

At enrolment you will be required to pay a minimum of 40% of your outstanding tuition fees and to sign up to an approved instalment payment plan, to pay any remaining balance as a condition of enrolment onto your course.  Instalment plans and examples of how to calculate the fees due at enrolment are outlined in  Appendix A of the 2024/25 Tuition Fee and Bursary Policy and reflected in the calculator below.

For further information please see the 2024/25 Tuition Fee and Bursary Policy.
