By ticking the relevant agreement box in ARC, I agree to adhere to the
statements below:
- As a University of Gloucestershire student, I will ensure that I always present in a smart and professional manner. If provided with uniform, this will be clean, ironed and not damaged.
- If my uniform should become damaged or not fit for purpose I will contact the University of Gloucestershire to arrange for a replacement to be ordered (this may incur a cost to the student).
- I will ensure I uphold a professional image at all times, whilst representing the University of Gloucestershire, either whilst wearing uniform, course specific clothing or during university related activity
- I will ensure that whilst in the public eye (including whilst on university campus sites), I will not be seen smoking, consuming alcohol, or behaving in a way that would compromise the University of Gloucestershire reputation or the reputation of my governing body
- I will ensure that my hair is tied up at all times, piercings are kept to a minimum, and fingernail are kept short and unpainted in line with local placement uniform policy.
- I will ensure that I report any absence from practice to my placement area at the soonest possible opportunity and I will also inform the University of Gloucestershire via the agreed absence reporting procedure (available in practice document and Moodle) as soon as I am aware I will be absent.
- I understand that I will be expected to work shifts throughout my programme of study. These shifts will be issued by the placement area. If I am unable to work the allocated shifts, the clinical area is under no obligation to afford me additional time to make up lost hours, this will be arranged by the University of Gloucestershire in discussion with placement education leads
- I understand that failure to attend allocated shifts may result in placement failure and/or withdrawal from my chosen programme of study
- There can be variations in uniform policy between clinical areas and healthcare/social care providers, if an issue is raised to me as a student in placement or university I will acknowledge this and abide by any reasonable request that is highlighted by my supervisors/tutors
- I will ensure that the values and standards stated in my professional code are upheld at all times
