Health & Social Care facilities

Last updated: 5 June 2024

Our new dedicated facilities and equipment allow students to prepare for the frontline of healthcare and learn the very cutting-edge techniques.

Students learning about the human body
  • Nursing clinic – gain hands-on experience to prepare for placements in our mock clinical ward. These brand-new teaching facilities offer the chance to develop and practice your skills in an authentic environment, learning the fundamental knowledge required to be a successful nurse.
  • Paramedic Science facilities – prepare for the emotional and physical challenges of treating patients in the field, with access to top-spec kit such as, ultra-realistic Lifecast body simulation manikins, treatment rooms and a simulation ambulance. We are one of few UK courses to have an iSimulate REALITi defibrillator, simulation ECG and SynDaver anatomy model, which has the look and feel and live human tissue and organs.
  • Willow House – this house offers a simulation environment for students to practice patient care in a domestic setting. The house has played a central role in testing students in mock emergency scenarios. Imitation fire, live actors and participation from the local police, fire brigade and ambulance departments, helped students experience the rush and fear of a real-life emergency.
