Sanctuary Support Fund
Find out about the University’s Sanctuary Support Fund which supports UoG’s commitment to creating a culture of welcome.
The Sanctuary Support Fund forms part of the University’s commitment to creating a culture of welcome and is made possible through generous donations from the University community and the public.
Recognising the additional barriers students from a forced migration background may face while completing their studies, the fund supports current students with exceptional costs that affect their ability to succeed in their studies.
Eligibility
Eligible students will:
- Be from a forced migration background. This includes (but is not limited to) refugees, asylum seekers, humanitarian protection, temporary refugee permission, Limited, Discretionary or Indefinite Leave to Remain, the Ukraine scheme and other forms of sanctuary including Calais Leave, Section 67 Leave, UASC Leave and Stateless Leave.
- Have taken out their full entitlement of Maintenance Loan in the current academic year.
- Not be eligible to apply for the University’s Financial Assistance Fund.
- Be studying on a University campus, not at a franchise, hybrid or validated University of Gloucestershire course at another institution.
- Meet the requirements set out in the University’s Attendance and Engagement Policy.
