Course overview

This professional MSc by Research adopts an active learning approach with a strong emphasis on real-world application to create a practical and professional course for international students. We promote in-classroom interaction between lecturers and students, as well as between peers, through activity, group discussion, role-play and projects. The course is designed to be inclusive, promoting integration and collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds.

There is a strong emphasis on empirical research and the course culminates in an opportunity for students to complete an empirical research project that critically explores and implement theories to real-world issues. This increases a student’s knowledge and understanding and improves ability to think critically and analytically while operating in a global context.

Within the rapidly evolving, expanding and thriving global construction industries, the role of Construction Project Managers (CPM) is in high demand. The responsibilities of a Construction Project Manager (CPM) range from logistically leading / managing projects including risks through the project life-cycle to building completion and beyond. Being able to negotiate challenges, and issues such as environment, sustainability, resource, and material procurement shortfalls are integral to the role.
