UoG Business Management expert wins 2024 UK Business Award

A University of Gloucestershire lecturer has been named Event Planner of the Year at the 2024 Business Awards UK Events and Exhibition Awards.

Jules Farr, a lecturer in Business Management within the University’s School of Business, Computing and Social Sciences, was honoured for demonstrating exceptional skill, creativity in planning and executing successful and unique events in Gloucestershire.

As the proprietor of Emerge Events, Jule’s activities include designing and delivering the Alternative Market – including gothic art and literature, and fantasy crafts –  within the eerie surroundings of the former Gloucester Prison.

Providing a platform for start-ups and SMEs to compete with multi-national companies, the UK Business Awards recognise and honour outstanding individuals and organisations that demonstrate excellence and contribute significantly to business.

The judging panel comprises business experts with a wealth of knowledge in various industries.

Jules, who has a master’s degree in Creative Events Management, said: “I am incredibly proud to have been named the Event Planner of the Year at the 2024 Business Awards UK and Events and Exhibition Awards.

“I am extremely grateful for the support and encouragement of my family and my colleagues at University of Gloucestershire in helping me to fulfil my passion for providing excellence in events management.

“As a business owner for more than 20 years, I am passionate about sharing my experiences with our students so they have the practical skills and the academic knowledge to achieve rewarding and meaningful careers when they graduate.”
