The pre-sessional English language preparation programme is delivered online by our trusted partner, Study Group.
The programme is designed to improve your English for academic study and develop the skills required for successful undergraduate or postgraduate study at University of Gloucestershire.
This programme will boost your spoken and written English skills to the required level for direct entry to the University of Gloucestershire, and enable you to meet fellow international students virtually and start to build your own community of support before you arrive in the UK and begin your degree.
Programme overview
The programme is the perfect way to prepare yourself to study at UoG, and will introduce you to a range of content including:
- teaching and assessment approaches used in the University
- academic writing conventions
- listening and reading skills
- grammar and vocabulary development
- presentation techniques and seminar skills
- analytical and problem-solving skills.

Assessment
Your performance will be managed through continual assessment and feedback. This will include monitoring your development through every aspect of the Pre-Sessional English (Online) for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Study programme, from writing, reading and listening, to presentation and analytical skills.
Your work will be assessed using the Academic English Skills (AES) module. AES has been independently benchmarked against CEFR and IELTS in 2019 by ENIC (formerly UK Naric) and is accepted by more than 50 Universities in lieu of SELT.
Entry requirements
You must have a conditional offer for either an undergraduate or postgraduate course at University of Gloucestershire, with one condition being to improve your English score.

The tuition fee for each programme is £350 per week.
