What to expect from Cheltenham 7s

Get the lowdown on Cheltenham’s sports and music festival

Advertised as the UK’s best up-and-coming sports and music festival, Cheltenham 7s combines the two perfectly. It’s a key weekend in a lot of our students’ calendars, so we’ve answered some FAQs that cover off everything you need to know.

When and where is it?

Cheltenham 7s is to be held on 19 and 20 July, at Newlands Park, Cheltenham. The park is really easy to drive to and park at, or access via bus.

What’s the music lineup?

There’s a whole bunch of artists and DJs heading to Newlands Park this year, including The Artful Dodger, Duke, Chez and for those who love a boogie, Revival Abba!

What else is there?

Traditionally this festival was all about rugby and music, but it now includes so much more. Last year it played host to over 110 teams competing across 8 different sports categories, food and drink stalls, DJs, bands, beer pong, fairground rides and more.

Is there camping?

There’s onsite camping available for all attendees, meaning you can stay up until late (or all night) if you wish. There’s also shower and changing room facilities to use over the weekend.
