Creating physical education teachers and coaches of the future
Join an interactive discussion of the current challenges facing physical education, school sport and coaching, followed by a practical session in our Sports Arena where you’ll explore innovative styles of teaching and coaching.
Please note that practical kit will be needed for this session.
Sport and Exercise Sciences
Sport and exercise sciences: from athlete to office worker
Learn how sport and exercise science skills and knowledge can be used to support athletic performance as well as boost individual health and wellbeing. You’ll meet our expert team, other students who have applied to the same course, and see our state-of-the-art equipment (including our environmental chamber which replicates the most challenging conditions on Earth).
Sports Performance
Exploring the interdisciplinary nature of sporting performance.
Witness a variety of demonstrations covering sport physiology, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning. In this session, we provide a taster of typical hardware and software utilised to quantify physical performance parameters.
Please note that practical kit and trainers that are suitable for 3G pitches and indoor use will be needed for this session.
Sports Therapy
Skills showcase: the role of sports therapists in patient recovery
Discover the vital knowledge and skills required to assist injured patients on their road to recovery an enhanced performance. Participate in hands-on demonstrations with our team of experts and all the kit needed.
Strength, Conditioning and Rehabilitation
Being a strength, conditioning and rehabilitation practitioner
Get ready to put your performance capabilities to the test using our industry-standard equipment and learn how you can enhance your strength, conditioning, and injury resilience.
With expert guidance from our strength and conditioning team, you’ll use your data to create a personalised plan to enhance your performance, just like a professional would.
While offer holders take part in interactive sessions, guests can attend this Q&A session to find out more about UoG and ask questions about tuition fees and loans, accommodation options and admissions.
Enjoy a complimentary buffet lunch, served in the refectory.
On campus
Take an optional tour of the Oxstalls halls of residence. You’ll be shown round by a student ambassador who’ll tell you what it’s like to live on-campus and answer any questions you might have.
There will also be a selection of clubs and societies available on the day so you can find out more about student life outside of lectures.
Off campus
Blackfriars residence will be available to view until 5pm. This mix of of en-suite rooms, townhouses and self-contained studios is located in Gloucester city centre, a 25 minute walk or short drive from Oxstalls.
Our state-of-the-art Sports Arena, which caters for many different sports, will also be open to view. It’s just a short walk from the main campus.
Free shuttle bus
There will be a free bus running from 2pm on the day that will take you between Oxstalls, Blackfriars, the Sports Arena, and back. It will be running every 20 minutes, with the final bus leaving Blackfriars to return to Oxstalls at 5pm.
By attending an offer holder day, you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade your conditional offer to make it unconditional. To accept your offer, head to the UCAS Hub and make your firm and insurance choices.

If you have time to spare, why not make your way into the centre of Gloucester and get a feel for this historic, vibrant city that you’ll call home.
It’s a 25 minute walk or short drive from Oxstalls and has some great options for shopping at the Quays, and plenty of places to eat and drink in Gloucester Docks.
