Health, Safety and Environment

Welcome to the Health, Safety and Environment Team.  Our role is advisory so we:

• assist in the development of the University's Health & Safety and Environmental Policies;
• assist managers in complying with health, safety and environment legislation, codes of practice and guidance by providing appropriate assistance and advice; and
• provide an advisory service on specialist advisory groups and committees as are established for maintaining the University's health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, guidelines and codes of practice.

Much of the work if the Team is directed to assisting faculties and departments in developing and improving their systems and procedures for identifying and control health & safety risks and environmental impacts.

You may wish to consult us regarding:

• accident and incident reporting and investigation;
• Faculty/Departmental assitance such as customised training and support;
• disposal of hazardous and clinical waste;
• Health, Safety and Environnmental training;
• raising issues at the Health and Safety and Sustainable Development Committees; and
• anything remotely connected with health, safety or environmental management!
